11th September - Adelaide
Things are really starting to kick into gear here in Adelaide, initiated by our first early morning team meeting in the canteen and a re-organisation of the communal work spaces to facilitate easy communication between the relevant people.
This coincided with the arrival of another team member, which marked the kick-off of our dedicated Media Team, supported by Kiss Communications in the UK. This will be the first year that we have been able to provide a dedicated group to our media coverage and we hope that the increased investment will be fruitful for the team and all of our sponsors.
After registering our trailer through the South Australian authorities, in preparation for testing next week, we received the excellent news that Mirage had made her flights as planned and is now in Melbourne, waiting to clear customs. Once the box has been given the all clear, it will be brought to Adelaide by truck and receive a heroes welcome from the team, armed with the necessary tools to begin work straight away.
The team with a few members of the Cambridge Society of South Australia
This evening we were very fortunate to be invited to a dinner hosted by Cambridge alumni, as part of the Cambridge Society of South Australia's social calendar. It was wonderful to receive their best wishes for the competition, hear their stories of Cambridge and Australia, and receive local tips for useful testing locations. We are very grateful for their hospitality and a warm welcome to Adelaide, setting us up well for the tough weeks ahead.
