Today I and some of my colleagues from CUER took the time to take a guided tour of Sydney. This was lead by a genuine Sydneysider, Justine, who was an architecture student. The tour was really informative, and we saw many of the sights of Sydney, as well as hearing many exciting tales.
Some of the things we saw include: the Rum hospital, the Mint (the first outside of the UK to mint pounds sterling), the Customs House and, of course, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Most of the team had the obligatory photo here (I certainly did!). In fact, I went back in the evening to take some sunset photos. This is also took me through the Botanical Gardens, which are very well kept, with a great selection of bird life too.

Solar Pigs! (Charlie outside the Sydney Hospital)

Lucy and Hannah outside the Governor's House, next to the Botanic Gardens (well done, Hannah, for putting up with all those birds)

The team visits the World's Largest Open Box of Tissues
Our short stay in Sydney was not enough to do justice to this magnificent city. I am really looking forward to returning to try to explore some more before I depart for the UK ! Now, it is time to hit the road and head North to Darwin!
